County Sport Partnerships
The County Sport Partnerships will be key partners for YCB and key drivers for Sport England.
The YCB have five such CSP’s. Teesside, North Yorkshire, South Yorkshire, West Yorkshire and Humber. Most have played an active role in the delivery of Active Sports, but now all the CSP’s have moved in a uniform manner to support all sports across the Region. They now have a more strategic approach. Future funding opportunities from Sport England will be routed through the CSP’s.
The YCB hold quarterly briefing meetings centrally with representatives from the 5 CSP’s to discuss our KPI Targets and Annual Action Plan. 2 CSP representatives sit on the newly formed YCB Operations Management Group which oversees the Annual Action Plan and report back to the Board.
It is recognised that the CSP Core Service Team locally can co-ordinate and to seek out the most appropriate mechanism for delivery. Essentially they can assist in the following:
Club development support including Club Mark Coaching Programmes Coach, volunteer and official development CSP Youth Games Assisting with Talent ID Generic Club Development Workshops Volunteer Development Schemes Access to placements for volunteers Supporting and mentoring coaches Access to Community Sports Coaches scheme Small grants scheme e.g. Club Access Scheme, transport assistance, coach vouchers
Sport England/CSP/NGB Meetings
The CDM’s regularly meet with their respective CSP’s to discuss the area plan.
Through the offices of Gill Keddie and David Gent, Sport England has included and consulted with all partners in their new Strategy “Yorkshire Plan for Sport 2004-2008”. The meetings have involved all CSP’s and National Governing Bodies. These meetings including the “NGB Forum” will continue on a quarterly basis and I am pleased to be the Board’s representative.
