INFORMATION FOR CLUBS AND LEAGUES
Professional people from abroad can come to England to work in their profession and play cricket as Amateurs (Tier One).
Tier 2 applies to 1st Class cricket only
Tier 5 applies to professional players in Clubs. Such players must have played a minimum of 5 1st Class games in the last 24 months and hold a UKCC Level 2 (or acceptable equivalent)
Such people may also come to an English League Club as a Coach only but the Club must be able to show that no suitable local candidate is available .Such coaches cannot play cricket
Tier 5 players can only play in a Premier League or a designated Professional League or at a Focus Club or a Chance to Shine Club or a Club-Marked Club. ECB may well be prepared to allow the designation of a Premier Division in a League as a designated Professional League.
The Yorkshire and Lancashire CBs will approve or otherwise applications to become a designated Professional League
The Sports Visitor category applies to those coming from outside the EEC. Residence is for a term of 6 months. They must be able to show they have evidence of return arrangements and have sufficient funds for their time in England. They are not allowed to charge anyone for any service they provide but may be given reasonable subsistence allowances. They may only play in amateur teams and predominantly amateur leagues
They may not be paid to coach or work at their Clubs
Sports Visitors and Tier 5 players may not have 2-year deals with their Club and existing such agreements have no validity. The visa must be applied for by the Sports Visitor. Other arrangements under this heading are still to be clarified
