All players in the National U13 competition must be Under 13 on 1 September 2008 and must be bonafide members of the adult club they represent. |

Entries will only be accepted from Clubs which are fully affiliated to the Yorkshire Cricket Board (and through them to the ECB ) Such affiliation fees for 2009 must be in the hands of the YCB either via Leagues or direct by 31 May 2009 No player shall play for more than one club / team in the competition in any one season. This may result in teams being asked to withdraw from the competition. The Yorkshire Cricket Board deplores the recruitment of players by clubs from outside their areas for the sole purpose of winning competitions |

The current Laws of Cricket shall apply but with the following playing conditions ; 1) The pitch shall be 21 yards in length. 2) The ball shall be 4.75 ozs 3) Stumps shall be 27 inches above the ground and 8 inches wide. 4) Each team shall consist of 11 players. 5) Each innings shall be 20 overs. 6) No bowler shall bowl more that 4 overs in a match. 7) When a batsman reaches or passes a personal total of 30, he/she must retire but may NOT return on the departure of the tenth batsman. 8) The team scoring the most runs shall be the winner. 9) In the event of the scores being level, the winner shall be determined as follows: a) the side which lost the fewer wickets b) lf still equal, the side with the highest score at the end of 19 overs, if still equal at the end of 18 overs, and so on. c) lf still equal, 5 players from each side (not wicket-keeper) to bowl at the wickets from the bowler's end. The team scoring the most hits shall be the winners. d) lf still equal, the same 5 players shall bowl alternately in a sudden death bowl out until a winner is achieved. 10) In all matches, no U13 aged fielder except the wicketkeeper shall be allowed to field nearer than 11 yards, measured front the middle stump, except behind the wicket on the offside (slips). 11) ECB regulations on the wearing of helmets must be observed. |

PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING Coaching from the middle (by the umpire/manager) or from the boundary by the manager or others acting upon instruction is to be deplored. This delays the smooth running of the game and adds nothing to the cricketing development of young cricketers. The captain is in sole charge on the field of play, and shall be able to make bowling changes and field placement changes without waiting for instruction from the manager. Breaches of this rule should be reported to STEPHEN PICKLES in writing for referral to the YCB. It is not intended that players shall play for more than one club in these competitions. Although it is realised that the 'mini league' system may occasionally throw up the odd case where a player is involved in two different Junior Leagues, this is fundamentally different from the active recruitment of better players to strengthen sides. Any club against whom an allegation is made of recruitment to strengthen will be expected to provide receipted and dated proof of' Junior Membership for the current season, along with scorebooks showing that the player in question has been a regular junior player throughout the current season. PLEASE be very sure that your players, especially your better players, have not already played for another club in the earlier stages of these competitions. Those clubs found guilty of attempting to strengthen their sides by recruiting the players of other sides will be withdrawn from the competitions. |

UMPIRES AND TEAM MANAGERS ARE ASKED TO PAY PARTICULAR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER Length of intervals , refreshment arrangements etc should be agreed before teams travel. Proper toilet facilities should be available and open. |
